Derek is an experienced health and safety professional, who has worked in various sectors as a manager for over 20 years.

Successfully spending time in senior positions on both sides of the Tasman, gaining practical safety, operations, and human resource management experience including in the public service as the Ministry of Educations Health and Safety Manager.
Derek has more than 15 years of experience successfully developing and implementing health and safety management systems that work, is an experienced investigator and auditor used to working in family owned, small to medium-sized organisations, through to large corporates.
Holding Diploma in Health and Safety Management and Management from the New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM), and a Diploma in Applied Management from the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT). Derek is a registered Health and Safety Professional with the Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) and a Certified Professional Member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM), which he has been a member of since 2015.
Derek is based in Taupo, enjoys the outdoors, and a member of the local Deerstalkers Association.
